What is a UFO HKY Puck and where do they come from?

It begins with someone who wants to become better at hockey.

A LONG TIME AGO ON A RINK FAR FAR AWAY…

Our founder came across a SOLID STEEL 3” hockey puck for training in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada in the early 1990’s. During his career of junior, university, and semi pro hockey, his family would have batches of stainless steel pucks made in the nearby steel town of Hamilton, ON for training. These steel beauties were such a hit with fellow teammates, they would be “borrowed” and unsurprisingly disappear over the season.

The steel pucks were EXCELLENT for skill and strength development for shooting and passing. However, they were not without their flaws. Mainly, the weight of steel used for the size of a real puck was too heavy for younger or less experienced players. The bare steel was also slippery on the blade of the stick, and did not have the grip or feel of a rubber puck.

Post career, our founder designed and filed patents for a new innovative training hockey tool. The result was the UFO. A hockey training tool constructed of rubber and steel, available in 3 varying weights to maximize power and development for all hockey players.
